We look forward to this holiday season. Heather will arrive home in about 3 hours to spend the next 5 weeks with us. Lindsay will do the same next year. Cherishing every moment as our little nest slowly becomes empty. Time sure is flying. It seemed like yesterday (14-1/2 years ago) that God blessed us with our third child and Christmas lists were filled with Barbies, Easy Bake ovens and baby toys. Now, it's filled with gift cards and electronics. Thankfully, our kids still love surprises, have trouble sleeping on Christmas Eve, and look forward to waking us up at 7am on Christmas morning...little do they know that I've been awake since 6am waiting for them to wake us :-)
But the most important thing they've learned is that it's Christ that we are celebrating. That it doesn't matter the gifts that we receive but that we can celebrate Him and each other.
I hope that will remain our focus during this busy Christmas season.
