The Cove...

Everyone should experience this. I've spent the past 24 hours in Asheville, NC, enjoying Billy Graham's Training Center at the Cove. The pastor's wives were invited to join our husband's on part of their annual retreat this year. Unfortunately, due to other commitments, three of our ladies were not able to join us. It was an amazing trip, although much too short.
We departed Charlotte yesterday morning and arrived in Asheville around noon. We began our day at Chelsea's Village Tea Room for lunch. It was absolutely wonderful. We spent a couple of hours browsing in stores in a quaint village near the Biltmore Estates before meeting our husband's at The Cove.
When we arrived (and at many other times throughout our stay), we enjoyed complimentary coffees, lattes, and chocolate icecream cones as we sat by this fire. Breathtaking, as we looked out the picturesque windows at God's handiwork nestled in the mountains. It's very hard to describe.
We took a long hike through the woods to visit the Chapel with our husband's and enjoyed a time of praise and worship together led by our worship pastor. After dinner, we adjourned to the conference room where our Senior Pastor read from Proverbs 31. Our husband's then went around one at a time and shared how blessed they are to have wives who support them in their ministries. We ended our night joining hands in prayer.
After breakfast this morning, we loaded up the van and headed back to Charlotte. I hated coming back to reality but I realize that all good things must come to an end.
In one of their brochures it read, Our prayer is that you will take away from The Cove the glow of a rich encounter with God.We most definitely did!
