How quickly blue skies can grow dark and gentle winds grow strong.
Suddenly fear is like white water pounding on the soul
Still we sail on knowing that our Lord is in control.
Sometimes He calms the storm with a whispered peace be still.
He can settle any sea but it doesn't mean He will.
Sometimes He holds us close and lets the wind and waves go wild.
Sometimes He calms the storm and other times He calms His child.
He has a reason for each trial that we pass through in life.
And though we're shaken we cannot be pulled apart from Christ.
No matter how the driving rain beats down on those who hold to faith.
A heart of trust will always be a quiet peaceful place.

I LOVE this song. But more than the music, I LOVE the words.
With so much going on around us, I am so very thankful to know that even when God may not calm the storms around us, He will ALWAYS calm His children.
It feels like Satan is having a hay-day at our church:
A dear friend that was in a very serious motorcycle accident last week now has lost part of his leg, may be paralyzed, and faces months and months of recovery. He has a very Godly wife and two precious little girls. He lays in ICU in and out of conscienceness facing more surgeries. Heartbreaking.
Many of our members facing terminal cancer.
Friends who's homes are being foreclosed due to loss of jobs.
Friends who are under constant persecution...and they say "Count it all Joy"! Amazing faith...

What if Your blessings come through raindrops? What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise? I have been thinking upon all these different stories and His sovereignty as well. He is good and He is just and He is perfect and He LOVES us! :-) Love you, friend!
Perfect timing! The sea is raging on this end as well. I know He has the power to calm the sea, but sometimes the lesson is more life changing when He carries us through it. I'm counting on seeing the sun shine soon! Miss you friend.
